BDP 1 with an HDMI cable, and it will pass video soundtracks to your
high-definition home-theater receiver in their native bitstream form for the
ultimate high-resolution sound experience. Your receiver doesnt decode Dolby
TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio but does have HDMI connections? No problem. The
BDP 1 features on-board decoding of both Dolby and DTS surround-sound formats
and can pass them to your receiver so you wont miss any of the heart-pounding
excitement of a Blu-ray Discs high-resolution sound. In addition to HDMI
connections, the BDP 1 also has both optical and co-axial digital connections
for hook-up to an older home-theater receiver, making it the perfect starting
point for upgrading an existing home-theater system. And when it comes to
music, the BDP 1 is also an exceptional-sounding CD player and can even play
MP3s and WMAs from a thumb drive connected to the front panel USB input.
Go Beyond the Movie

BD-Live interactivity. BD-Live is an exciting, new realm of interactive
content available on the latest generation of Blu-ray Disc media. Accessing
BD-Live is easy if you have an Ethernet cable and a USB drive with at least
one gigabyte free (the cable and USB drive are sold separately). Connect the
BDP 1 to the Internet using the Ethernet cable, insert the USB drive into the
BDP 1s front-panel USB input and play a Blu-ray Disc that offers BD-Live
content. From the Internet, you will be able to download a world of
interactive content related to the disc, including news, ringtones and games.
